“Alt” Comedy feels like a kinder, gentler way of say “not funny”. I’ve been accused of this. But, I feel, this just means I’m not afraid to go deep. Right? Does everyone have to laugh, like, every 1.5 minutes for chrissakes?
Also, stand up terrifies me. I’ve done 6 solo shows. 7, if you count a “two hander” with my daughter a few years ago. There was some humor. Some. However, I didn’t have the pressure of making the audience laugh. I was in a theater, not a club. They couldn’t heckle, either.
Perfect.
